READ THIS IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE BAGGAGE...

The next time you are worried about your baggage being too much for someone to carry, I hope you can think of it like this…

Falling in love, developing a relationship or maintaining a relationship is like two people who really really like each other, traveling long and far and once they get to a hotel, they put their baggage down and it pops open and there is stuff everywhere.

You’ve both got stuff ALL over the room.

And you two look at each other and realize that falling in love and making a relationship is not about bitching about the fact that your baggage has exploded everywhere. It’s not about focusing on it being all over the place. It’s not about making each other feel bad or guilty about it…

It’s about taking the time to sort through it together.
It’s about figuring out where things are going to go.
It’s about how you are going to learn about the different things this person had in their bag.
It’s about how you are going to sort through the emotional and physical pieces.
It’s also about figuring out how you are going to let that person take their time to organizie and put things where they are supposed to be - for themselves - not for you to do for them or decide where their things should go.

It’s about working together to organize your lives, to work through your baggage and to empower each other to do with it what you need to do with it, so that you feel that you are doing that together instead of being so afraid and feeling like, “ ugh I have sooo much baggage…” and never letting anyone in to help you start to pick up the pieces.

This is an excerpt and a major takeaway from Sex Talk Sunday with @sexdoccarli. She truly is SO amazing and I am so grateful she shared her powerful words with us. You can read the entire interview here and you can watch it on my IGTV!

Ps. If you think you are the only person with baggage, I hope you know that we ALL have baggage, every single one of us, it’s just all different types of baggage. Life and love are about learning how to carry our baggage in a way that feels good for us and sometimes finding an amazing partner who doesn’t mind sharing the weight or doesn’t feel like our baggage is too much to carry
